Where is Werribee?

Werribee is in the City of Wyndham, around 32 kilometres south-west of the Melbourne CBD on the M1 Princes Highway. It is the largest city between Melbourne and Geelong and is the base for the Wyndham Shire, which it is a part of. Werribee is on the metropolitan train system and commuters can access the city in about 45 minutes from Werribee train station, on the Werribee line. There is also a great local bus network connecting Werribee with the region. Werribee is somewhat of a hub for neighbouring suburbs including Wyndham Vale, Tarneit, Hoppers Crossing and Point Cook.

Werribee has become known for its solid investment potential in recent years and though house prices are slightly higher than in neighbouring suburbs, the Werribee real estate scene still offers some good opportunities for first home buyers and young families, with many established family homes turning over regularly in the market. For those more interested in renting houses in Werribee, the rental market is also good with a solid and diverse offering of interesting properties to suit anyone in the suburb’s demographic – from retirees to students, families to young professionals.

Things to See and Do in Werribee

Much of the local lifestyle is focused on the natural environment with the Werribee River running through the centre of the town.
